Game design is a broad field that can be viewed from multiple perspectives. It can be challenging, creative, fun, and inspiring, but also tricky, depressive, uncertain, and unforgiving. Furthermore, there are many game design sub-disciplines: content design, technical design, UX & UI design, level design, systems design, etc.
With these things in mind, I started this journal to have a place to remind everyone why game design is worth practicing and a place where I could share thoughts, ideas, and resources that I found interesting and helpful over the year I have been designing games.
This journal has multiple pages that present information on games design and various adjacent topics that help broaden one’s horizons, serve as a reminder and help with work-life balance. Design is a creative field, and creativity requires experience, knowledge, and a healthy state of mind and body.
Hopefully, you will find things posted here helpful.
